What size is your organization?
Specific PRIME practice incentive requirements depend on the size of an organization.  To determine an employer’s category for the purposes of PRIME, the following information is required: 
  • How many workers (including all managers, non-managers and owners/operators) are at each of the organization’s workplaces
  • How much the organization pays to the Commission in average base assessments

NO COMMITTEE OR REPRESENTATIVE REQUIRED (NCRR) EMPLOYERS
〈 At each of your workplaces, you employ:

  • less than 2 people 

〈 Your organization pays less than $48,000 in average base assessments.

You must have established and maintained the following OH&S components and return-to-work requirements:  

Policy Statements

  • Do you have an OH&S and a return-to-work policy statement(s) that is signed by the highest ranking official?
  • Does your statement(s) identify the roles and responsibilities of the people involved?
  • Is the statement(s) posted in a prominent place in the workplace?

Injury Reporting System 

  • Do you have an injury reporting system?
  • Does it outline the steps to be taken following an injury?
  • Does it reference how you will transport an injured worker from the workplace to medical care as per section 87 of theWHSC Act?
  • Does it include the name of a designated person to whom injuries must be reported?
  • Does it reference the process for an injured worker to return the employer’s copy of the Physician’s Report of Injury or Chiropractor’s Report of Injury to the employer? 
  • Is it communicated to all employees?

SMALL EMPLOYERS
〈 At each of your workplaces, you employ:

  • fewer than 10 workers (provincially-regulated employers)

〈 Your organization pays less than $48,000 in average base assessments.

Small employers must fulfill Practice Incentive Criteria 1, 2, and 3 
 
MEDIUM EMPLOYERS
〈 At one or more of your workplaces, you employ:

  • 10 or more workers (provincially-regulated employers)

〈 Your organization pays less than $48,000 in average base assessments.

Medium employers must fulfill Practice Incentive Criteria 1, 2, 3 and 4

LARGE EMPLOYERS
〈 At one or more of your workplaces, you employ:

  • 10 or more workers (provincially-regulated employers)

〈 Your organization pays $48,000 or more in average base assessments.  

Large employers must fulfill Practice Incentive Criteria 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
