Do you and your friends have a story to share, or an “oh, that was close!” moment? Know someone who is doing it right around injury prevention?

The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission is once again encouraging youth to work safe with a radio and video ad contest. Get creative and develop a radio or video ad in any style that tells your friends about the importance of workplace health and safety.

We like to think we’re invincible.  But the truth is, young workers are injured in the workplace each and every day.  On average 2 young workers between the ages of 15 and 24 are hurt on the job every day in Newfoundland and Labrador.  The one common thing about all of these injuries is that they are preventable.

If you are a grade 7-12 student, now is your chance to get creative and MAKE A RADIO AD or a SAFETY VIDEO to share your thoughts on workplace health and safety and injury prevention.

Submissions can be made individually or as a team. The deadline for entries is April 12, 2013.

New for 2013!

Viewer’s Choice Award. When the contest closes viewers will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite video submission from the Top 10 entries.
