The Commission has a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Newfoundland and Labrador Chiropractic Association to ensure quality and standardized services for injured workers. The Commission will only cover chiropractic treatment provided by chiropractors who have signed this agreement.

The Commission works closely with the Newfoundland and Labrador Chiropractic Association through a liaison committee which provides input into services guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures, fees and outcome measurements.

Chiropractors can submit the form 8/10c report through the connect web portal. This service is available 23/7 for chiropractors who have signed an MOA with the Commission. You can submit any time except 7 pm to 8 pm to allow for system back-ups.

Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat patients for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, extremities, and their effect on the nervous system. They specialize in providing adjustments or joint manipulations to restore function and promote health. Chiropractors are also trained to provide nutritional and lifestyle counselling and to prescribe therapeutic exercise.

Chiropractors are considered primary care providers and can be selected by injured workers as their only or principal provider of care for their injury. Chiropractic care can also be provided as a result of referral from another licensed health care practitioner. Chiropractic treatment plays an important part in the worker’s recovery and return to work.

In the provision of chiropractic treatment, there are occasions where the treating chiropractor may recommend health care devices to assist with rehabilitation, recovery and return to work. They may recommend these devices by using the health care device form.
The Commission has developed guidelines  regarding the roles and responsibilities of chiropractors, how to submit reports and the frequency of treatments. We also offer tips on how to prepare an invoice.
