The Commission provided funding and consultation enabling the Association for New Canadians (ANC) to fill a gap for new Canadian workers and entrepreneurs by developing an occupational health and safety (OHS) training module. This module can help ensure immigrants who work in our province are provided with specialized OHS training thereby creating a better understanding of employee/employer rights and responsibilities. This OHS training module is a valuable addition to Canadian OHS education. ANC is now in a position to improve OHS services to new comers in NL and assist with this knowledge transfer to other provinces.
